Responsibilities
- Developing effective growth strategies and plans in order to increase client base

- Preparation of thorough, accurate and timely estimates, including the preparation of bid documents and the development of clear written proposals and correspondence.
- Review of all drawings and specifications to determine scope of work of estimates

Required Skills

Responsibilities
- Work closely with other discipline Engineers, Designers and Project Managers as a key team player within an integrated multi-disciplinary project delivery team.
- Aid in conceptual and detailed design of the process
- Aid in completion of mass balance, heat transfer, thermodynamic calculations, and other process related calculations.
- Specify major equipment, select valves and instruments, specify piping requirements
- Provide informed input to the control and automation, electrical and mechanical design of the systems
- Support fabrication team during construction to ensure design intent is met
- Participate in the testing of the equipment in-house and on client’s sites
- Enlist, support and manage subcontracts and vendors
- Aid in process control design related to mechanical systems as well as collaboration with the automation team.
- Complete project tasks that include, but are not limited to initial design criteria and basis for design drawings, P&IDs, generation of data sheets and tag lists, transmittals for approval, spool drawing review
- Perform inspection, approvals and verification of components and assemblies in both fab shop and field environments, including as-built of the final project
- Support commissioning and start-up activities
- Provide pre-sales process and mechanical system support to sales teams, including cost and time estimates for projects
- Perform site reviews for mechanical, electrical and process installations
- Support Field Supervisors in site troubleshooting, technical and maintenance assistance at customer locations
- Liaise with clients, contractor representatives and/or project field personnel as necessary to assist with meeting key project deliverables with strong ability to identify, troubleshoot and resolve arising issues in a timely manner
- Conduct work in a professional manner and communicate a positive image personally and of the project
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
- Registered (or eligible for registration) as a Professional Engineer in Ontario with solid knowledge of engineering codes and standards
- 10+ years of experience in the Pharmaceutical and Biotech industry, Food and Beverage, Construction Engineering, Planning and/or Project Management, preferably in a variety of fields (i.e., Industrial, Beverage, Dairy an asset)
- Experience in the design of fluid and bulk materials handling processes including preparation of process flow diagrams, heat and material balances and P&IDs
- Experience in the design of sanitary process systems including piping, vessels and skidded systems
- Familiarity with CFIA and HACCP requirements would be an asset
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment
We are seeking highly motivated and energetic stainless steel fabricators and sanitary tube welders to join our growing organization. In this role you will lead the fabrication effort to build sanitary process equipment. The successful candidate will work with a team of talented engineers and designers, quality assurance experts and highly skilled trades people to delivery state of the art process systems
Responsibilities
- Experience and knowledge in process piping systems, fabrication and equipment for the pharmaceutical, food and beverage industry
- Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals and procedures
- Fit up and welding of sanitary process lines and Schedule pipe of varying thicknesses (.035” – .375”)
- Fit- up and welding of stainless steel structural members and of varying sizes and thicknesses to fabricate frames and platforms for pharmaceutical and hygienic process equipment
- Manual and automatic TIG welding
- Examine welds and ensure that they meet the company’s standards and/or specifications
- Identify potential issues and risks and proactively manage and resolve issues with minimal impact on timing and budget
- Regularly report on current project status to direct superior
- Communicate with Quality Control team members ensuring highest level of standards are met
- Operate hoists and lifting equipment, manufacturing of tanks, skidded systems
- Responsible for fabrication and installation of sanitary process piping and equipment
- Out of town travel may be required
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience as stainless steel tube fitter in a pharma or food and beverage industry
- Welding Techniques: Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG) using all welding positions
- Ability to read and interpret P&ID, equipment and fabrication drawings
- Safety oriented, observing proper lifting techniques and safe use of all equipment
- Able to work well under pressure while striving to meet commitments to clients
- High attention to detail in all areas of work with an ability to communicate both in writing and verbally
- Quality focused approach to work
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Superior hand/eye coordination, manual dexterity and ability to handle heavy loads as this position is physically demanding
